Quick Highlights

Having opened the account, you can now request the Catholic Community Foundation send specific contributions from the Donor Advised Fund to your favorite charities.  You can do this the same year and/or over a period of years.

  • Non-itemizers: Starting 2026, deduct up to $1,000 (single) or $2,000 (married) in charitable gifts.
  • Cash gifts: Deduction limit of 60% of AGI is now permanent.
  • Seniors (65+): Extra $6,000 deduction ($12,000 for couples), even if you don’t itemize.

Give Smarter with a DAF

Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) lets you:

  • Make a larger, tax-deductible gift now
  • Distribute grants to your parish or ministries over multiple years
  • Use “bunching” strategies to maximize impact

Plan Ahead

Itemizers in 2026 must give more than 0.5% of AGI before deductions apply. High-income donors may face new limits—review your strategy with a professional advisor.
