A Message from the Metropolitan Archbishop

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

St. Paul’s letter to the Corinthians reminds us that as “God’s co-workers” (Cor. 3:9) we are called to be disciples of Jesus Christ with a spirit of trustworthy, faithful and joyful stewardship. The Catholic Community Foundation provides a valuable resource whose goal is to assist the Universal Church in the sharing of our God-given treasures with our sisters and brothers in parishes, schools, and dioceses, and Catholic institutions and organizations. The Foundation’s unwavering mission is to safeguard the Gospel message and the moral teachings of our Catholic Church through prudent, moral and socially responsible financial investments and their management. Through the Catholic Community Foundation we can leave a legacy of loving stewardship to our Catholic Church and its ministries in perpetuity. “It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. This I command you: love one another.” (John 15:16-17) Let us be collaborators in God’s plan and unite our hearts in solidarity with His call to be one with Him for the good of all His people.

May almighty God bless you and through the intercession of La Virgen de Guadalupe may we journey closer to Jesus Christ, our Savior, as his faithful stewards.

Yours in Christ,

Most Reverend Gustavo García-Siller, M.Sp.S.
Archbishop of San Antonio

St. Matthew
Feast Day: September 21st
Patron saint of bankers and accountants

St. Matthew, you were first a tax collector and then, following Christ’s call, a gatherer of souls. Later you wrote the Gospel accounts of what Jesus, descendant of David, said and did as Teacher and Savior. Dear Saint Matthew, we pray for your blessings and guidance for the Catholic Community Foundation and for all who seek our help that we might imitate your example by being careful and faithful stewards for those who entrust their resources to us. Amen.
